What works on Android and on iPhone
The loud signal works on both <a href="/en/parental-control-app-android/">Android</a> and <a href="/en/parental-control-app-iphone/">iPhone</a>, and so do SOS, location, safe zones and battery level. Differences between the systems show up elsewhere: app limits on a child’s iPhone, for example, run through Apple Screen Time.<br><br><strong>A feature your child knows about.</strong> There is nothing to hide about the loud signal: your child wants you to be able to reach them too. Show them how it sounds and agree what it means, for example “call Mum back”. Then the signal becomes your shared code, not a reason to grumble.

How do I get through to my child if their phone is on silent?
Send a loud signal from Kid Security. Your child’s phone rings at full volume even if the sound is completely off. The signal travels over the internet and plays separately from an ordinary call, so silent mode does not stop it.
What does the signal need to reach my child's phone?
Your child’s phone has to be switched on and connected to the internet, over mobile data or Wi-Fi, with Tigrow installed and paired with your Kid Security. A phone that is switched off or completely flat will not ring. In that case, the map shows the last place where the phone was connected, with the time of that point.
How loud is the signal?
Loud and noticeable: you can hear it from a school bag or the next room. It is meant to get your child’s attention without frightening them.
Can it help find a phone my child has lost at home?
Yes. If the phone has slipped behind the sofa or been left in a coat pocket, send the signal. It rings loudly and you find it by ear.
Does the loud signal work on iPhone?
Yes. The loud signal works on both Android and iPhone. Your child needs Tigrow on their phone, paired with Kid Security on yours.
Is the loud signal free?

How is the loud signal different from the SOS button?
They work in opposite directions. You send the loud signal when you cannot reach your child. Your child sends an SOS when they need you, and it reaches every connected parent together with the place it was sent from.
Can I just make my number ring through silent on my child’s phone instead?
Partly. On iPhone, Emergency Bypass lets calls from a chosen contact ring even on silent or Do Not Disturb. On Android, chosen contacts can be allowed through Do Not Disturb. These settings are handled by Apple and Google, not by Kid Security, and they live on your child’s phone, so they can be switched off there. The loud signal is sent from your phone whenever you need it.
